The Best Cashmere Gifts Under $500: Our 2026 Holiday Guide

The Best Cashmere Gifts Under $500: Our 2026 Holiday Guide

The best cashmere gift under $500 is a piece the recipient will reach for year after year: our Triangle Scarf US$260, a classic Crew Neck Tee US$390, or—for a smaller gesture—a Ribbed Beanie US$250 or our Care Products starting at $30. Every piece we make is 100% A-grade cashmere, certified by The Good Cashmere Standard and OEKO-TEX, so a gift at any of these prices carries the same quality as our most considered pieces.

We founded Elle & Riley in 2016—a mother and daughter from New Zealand with a deep love of cashmere—and ten years on, gifting remains the reason many people first experience the brand. Below are the pieces we would choose, arranged by budget.

Gifts Under $200

Cashmere Heart Socks US$100. Incredibly soft, featherweight, and one-size—the safest gift on this list. Something that shows them how much you love them.

Cashmere Gloves US$198. A small luxury that gets daily use. Pair with the socks for a complete gift under $300.

Cashmere Deodorizing Spray US$35. For someone who already owns cashmere, this is the most thoughtful gift of all: a refreshing Cashmere Spray to help keep your knits looking and feeling their best. Proper care is what turns a good sweater into a decades-long favorite.

Gifts From $200 to $350

Cashmere Sweater Scarf US$290. Somewhere between a scarf and a layer—generously sized, incredibly soft, and worn as readily over the shoulders as at the neck. One-size, which makes it one of the easiest gifts on this list to get right.

Cashmere Triangle Scarf US$260. A softer, more contemporary way to wear cashmere at the neck. The triangle shape sits beautifully under a coat collar and ties simply over a tee—a gift with a little more personality than the classic scarf.

V-Neck Camisole US$300. The quiet workhorse of a cashmere wardrobe: a featherweight layer under a blazer or knit through the cooler months, and incredibly soft worn alone in warmer ones. For the recipient who dresses simply and well.

Gifts From $350 to $500

Cashmere V-Neck Tank—$350. The most versatile layering piece we make, and a gift for every season: under a blazer through the working week, over a fine tee in autumn, on its own in summer. It is the piece that quietly earns the most wear in a wardrobe.

Fine Cashmere Tee—$400. Our lightest-weight piece, and the one we recommend for the recipient who has everything. It wears like a refined T-shirt, layers through every season, and is incredibly soft against the skin—a first cashmere piece and a daily favorite in one.

What Makes a Cashmere Gift Worth It

Under $500, the difference between cashmere that lasts decades and cashmere that pills in a season comes down to the fibre. We use only 100% A-grade cashmere, with fibres measuring 15.2 to 15.8 microns—the longest, finest grade—combed by hand from goats raised in Inner Mongolia. Longer, finer fibres hold their shape, resist pilling, and become softer with every year of wear.

Our production is certified by The Good Cashmere Standard, which independently verifies animal welfare and the wellbeing of herding communities, and OEKO-TEX, which certifies every garment is free from harmful substances—a meaningful reassurance when the fibre sits against skin. We have built the brand this way since 2016, without outside investment and without logos: quiet pieces that speak through how they feel.

How to Get the Gift Right

If you are unsure of size, choose a one-size piece. Scarves, beanies, gloves, and the Care Kit remove sizing from the equation entirely.

If you are gifting the Tee or the Tank, choose their usual size. Our silhouettes are relaxed by design, so a standard size is forgiving—and holiday gifts may be exchanged until January 15.

Choose a classic neutral. Ivory, cloud grey, camel, navy, and black are the colors our customers wear most and the safest choices for someone else's wardrobe.

Order by December 14 with standard shipping for delivery before December 25, or by December 17 with express shipping. Our final holiday dispatch is Friday, December 18.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is cashmere a good holiday gift? Yes—cashmere is one of the few gifts that is both a luxury and a daily essential. A well-made piece in 100% A-grade cashmere is worn for decades and becomes softer with age, which makes it feel more personal, not less, as years pass.

What is the best cashmere gift under $200? A cashmere beanie or our Cashmere Care Kit. The beanie is one-size and universally wearable; the Care Kit you can build is the most thoughtful choice for someone who already owns cashmere.

What size should I buy when gifting cashmere? Their usual size. Our fits are relaxed by design, and holiday gifts may be exchanged until January 15 if needed. If you do not know their size, choose a scarf or beanie—both one-size.

How can I tell if cashmere is good quality? Look for 100% cashmere (not a blend), fibre fineness (ours measures 15.2 to 15.8 microns), and independent certification. The Good Cashmere Standard and OEKO-TEX certify both the ethics and the safety of the fibre. Very inexpensive cashmere is typically made from shorter fibres that pill quickly.

Does cashmere need special care? Less than most people think. Hand wash in cold water with a dedicated cashmere wash, dry flat, and store with cedar. Cared for this way, cashmere outlasts almost everything else in a wardrobe—which is why we often suggest pairing any gift with our Care Kit.
